Hospital Assistant Technician ( One Year )
OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1-To develop a skilled support workforce capable of assisting healthcare professionals in hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic centers.
2-To provide fundamental knowledge of hospital functioning, departments, and roles of healthcare team members.
3-To train students in patient care techniques, including hygiene, nutrition, mobility assistance, and vital signs monitoring.
4-To introduce clinical procedures such as wound dressing, assisting in diagnostic tests, and supporting minor medical interventions.
5-To build infection prevention skills, including biomedical waste management, PPE use, and sterilization techniques.
6-To develop administrative and documentation skills, such as admission, discharge, patient records, and report maintenance.
7-To strengthen communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient and team interaction with empathy and professionalism.
8-To familiarize students with emergency care support, including basic first aid, CPR, and response protocols in acute medical situations.
9-To train in basic diagnostics and investigation support, including assisting with blood sample collection, ECG, and X-ray preparation.
10-To provide knowledge of operation theatre assistance, sterilization protocols, tray setting, and post-operative care.
11-To ensure understanding of patient rights, safety, ethics, and confidentiality in a healthcare setting.
12-To expose students to real hospital environments through internships in wards, OPDs, emergency rooms, ICUs, and other clinical units.
13-To encourage lifelong learning and career readiness by developing soft skills, critical thinking, and adaptability in a healthcare setting.
14-To prepare students for multiple job roles such as Hospital Ward Assistant, Patient Care Attendant, OPD Helper, Pathology Assistant, and CSSD Technician.
15-To instill a sense of responsibility and discipline, essential for hospital work, including time management, alertness, and hygiene.
