OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE:
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:
1-To Understand fundamentals of public health, sanitation, and environmental hygiene.
2-Inspect, monitor, and control sanitation practices in community and institutions.
3-Ensure safe water supply, waste disposal, sewage management, and vector control.
4-Assist in prevention and control of communicable diseases through environmental measures.
5-Monitor food hygiene, milk safety, and housing sanitation.
6-Support implementation of national health programs related to sanitation and environmental health.
7-Provide health education to the community on hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.
8-Conduct surveys and collect health data for sanitation planning.
9-Develop skills in inspection, reporting, and enforcement of public health regulations.
10-Gain field experience in municipal bodies, water works, food inspection, waste treatment plants, and public health laboratories.

12-Prepare for independent functioning as a Sanitary Inspector under local health departments, PHCs, and municipalities.
13-Provide foundational knowledge of public health, sanitation, epidemiology, and disease prevention.

15-Develop skills in inspection, supervision, and monitoring of sanitation systems in municipal, rural, and hospital settings.
16-Promote food hygiene and safety through inspection of food establishments, milk/meat safety, and prevention of food adulteration.
17-Ensure safe drinking water supply by training in water quality monitoring, purification methods, and chlorination techniques.
18-Prepare students for outbreak investigation and control of waterborne, foodborne, and vector-borne diseases.
19-Equip learners to enforce public health laws and standards (municipal sanitation acts, food safety laws, environmental protection rules).
20-Develop competence in biomedical and hazardous waste management at hospitals and industries.
21-Strengthen practical skills in laboratory methods for testing water, food, and environmental samples.
22-Promote occupational health and industrial sanitation awareness to prevent workplace hazards.
23-Foster communication and leadership skills for health education and community mobilization.
24-Encourage participation in national health and sanitation programs such as Swachha Bharat Mission, NVBDCP, and Urban Health Missions.
