Diploma in Nursing Assistant Course ( Two Year )
OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE:
The Diploma in Nursing Assistant is designed to equip students with the essential knowledge, hands-on skills, and professional values needed to deliver basic nursing care in a variety of healthcare settings under the supervision of qualified medical and nursing personnel. The course focuses on developing compassionate caregivers who can effectively assist patients in maintaining health, dignity, and independence.
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1-Provide Basic Nursing Care : To train students to assist patients with personal hygiene, feeding, mobility, and daily living activities in
hospitals, nursing homes, and home care environments.

3-Develop Skills in Patient Observation and Monitoring : To enable students to record and report patients' vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure accurately and promptly to medical personnel.
4-Ensure Infection Control and Personal Hygiene Practices : To instill proper infection control procedures including hand hygiene, disinfection, waste disposal, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to reduce hospital-acquired infections.
5-Assist in Emergency and First Aid Care : To provide basic first aid and emergency support like CPR, bleeding control, and immobilization under supervision in pre-hospital or clinical settings.
6-Communicate Effectively and Compassionately : To foster empathetic communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team while respecting patient dignity, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity.
7-Provide Supportive Care to the Elderly and Differently-Abled : To prepare students to care for geriatric and disabled patients with patience and compassion by supporting their physical, emotional, and psychological needs.
8-Maintain Clean and Safe Environment for Patients : To develop skills in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of patient surroundings including beds, linens, and medical equipment in clinical areas.
9-Understand Basic Anatomy, Physiology, and Nutrition : To provide foundational knowledge of human body systems and basic nutrition that informs better caregiving and patient support.
10-Prepare for Maternity and Childcare Support : To assist nursing staff in maternal care (before and after childbirth) and newborn care including
hygiene, feeding, and immunization support.
11-Perform Basic Clinical Procedures Under Supervision : To train in performing supportive nursing tasks such as dressing wounds, assisting in catheter care, helping in ambulation, and patient positioning.
12-Maintain Records and Legal Compliance : To ensure accurate documentation of care provided, vital signs, and intake/output charts while understanding the legal and ethical responsibilities in healthcare delivery.
13-To Prepare for Employment and Career in Healthcare Sector : To prepare students for entry-level employment in hospitals, clinics, elder care facilities, and home healthcare, and to enable further education or certification in nursing or allied health fields.
